The empoyers of the department take part of the international scientific team on the project NATO SPS G5526 - Explosive Trace Detection EXTRAS is approved under the Science for Peace and Security (SPS) programme..

    The priorities of the project are:
  • fight against terrorism;
  • methods of protecting critical infrastructure, supplies and personnel;
  • technologies for detecting explosive devices.

The project leader is Dr. Antonio Palucci from the Italian National Agency for New of Energy Technologies and Sustainable Economic Development (ENEA), Rome, Italy.
